This role is based in Poole, Dorset, and offers a vibrant general practice environment that includes responsibilities in accounts, taxation, bookkeeping, and VAT management.

As a Senior Accountant, you will be integral to the firm's operations, managing a diverse range of tasks while enjoying a significant degree of independence. This position is well-suited for candidates who are either fully qualified, part-qualified, or possess relevant experience. Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of Statutory Accounts: Responsible for compiling and preparing statutory accounts for a varied client portfolio.
  • Management Accounts: Aiding in the development of management accounts.
  • Taxation Duties: Overseeing personal tax, corporate tax, and VAT submissions.
  • Bookkeeping: Conducting general bookkeeping tasks utilizing software such as Xero or QuickBooks.
  • Mentorship: Guiding and mentoring junior staff and trainees.


Requirements:
  • Qualifications: Currently pursuing or holding an ACCA/ACA qualification, or qualified through experience.
  • Experience: At least 3-5 years in a UK accountancy practice, with considerable experience in preparing accounts and tax returns, and managing a diverse client base including sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies.
  • Software Skills: Proficient in accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, and Excel.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Attention to Detail: Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Analytical Skills: Robust analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Team Collaboration: Capability to work effectively within a team and support junior colleagues.
