Job Description

TPF Recruitment is delighted to represent a distinguished chartered accountancy firm seeking a talented and experienced Senior Accountant for a dynamic general practice role that encompasses financial management, taxation, and bookkeeping.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Financial Management: Compiling and preparing financial statements for a diverse client base, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Taxation: Managing personal tax, corporate tax, and VAT returns, providing expert advice and guidance to clients.
  • Bookkeeping: Performing general bookkeeping duties using software such as Xero or QuickBooks, maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records.
  • Mentoring: Coaching and mentoring junior staff members and trainees, sharing knowledge and expertise to ensure their professional development.
Requirements:
  • Qualifications: Studying towards or holding ACCA/ACA qualification, or qualified by experience.
  • Experience: A minimum of 3-5 years in a UK accountancy practice, with substantial experience in preparing financial statements, tax returns, and managing responsibilities for a mixed client base of sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies.
  • Software Proficiency: Skilled in using accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, and Excel.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication abilities, with the ability to articulate complex financial concepts to clients and stakeholders.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail, ensuring that financial records and statements are accurate and compliant.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex financial issues.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively within a team and support junior staff, promoting a culture of teamwork and collaboration.
