Job Title: Healthcare Support Worker

We are seeking a dynamic and driven Healthcare Support Worker to join our team at Swansea Bay University Health Board. As a Healthcare Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our nursing team in delivering excellent healthcare services.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting Registered Nurses in the assessing, planning, management, and evaluation of care. You will work as an effective member of the team, actively promoting good team relationships and communicating effectively with patients and relatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist Registered Nurses in the assessing, planning, management, and evaluation of care
  • Work as an effective member of the team, actively promoting good team relationships
  • Communicate effectively with patients and relatives and overcome barriers to effective communication
  • Assist with wound dressings, suture/clip removal, and demonstrate understanding of airway support
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a minimum of QCF Level 3 (formerly NVQ Level 3) in Health or be willing to complete it within an agreed timeframe. You will also need to demonstrate an understanding of the scope of the role in the context of the nursing team and have knowledge and understanding of the Code of Conduct for Healthcare Support Workers in Wales.
