About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Healthcare Support Worker to join our team at Gwelfor Ward, an 18-bedded all-male high dependency mental health rehabilitation unit. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in promoting the ethos of rehabilitation and recovery, focusing on promoting independence, individuality, and holistic care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist patients with their activities of daily living, promoting well-being and independence.
  • Support patients in their mental health recovery journey through a range of therapies and activities.
  • Work effectively as a team player to achieve delegated tasks and contribute to the development of those accessing continuing healthcare.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, relatives, and carers, as well as all members of the multi-disciplinary team.

Requirements

  • Minimum QCF Level 2 in Health or willingness to complete QCF qualification.
  • Experience of working or caring in a health or social care environment.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the Code of Conduct for Healthcare Support Workers in Wales.
  • Ability to work effectively as a team player and communicate effectively with patients and colleagues.
