Position Overview

Fuel Recruitment is collaborating with a prominent financial services consultancy seeking a skilled Automation Test Engineer to support a banking client in transitioning their predominantly Java-based applications to an AWS infrastructure.

This role requires a presence in the office for 2 to 3 days each week.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be tasked with:

  • Developing and implementing comprehensive test strategies that are resilient, reusable, and scalable.
  • Creating detailed testing documentation, including test plans, specifications, automated test scripts, defect reports, and performance metrics.
  • Overseeing test environments and devices, establishing consistent test data, and generating insightful reports.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to plan and execute tests utilizing the latest UI and mobile test automation technologies, ensuring efficient delivery for a vast customer base in the banking and financial sector.
  • Working closely with architects to ensure that solutions align with established principles and guidelines.
  • Leading, mentoring, and inspiring fellow automation engineers to enhance their skills and capabilities.
Required Skills and Experience

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Proficiency in Selenium for user interface testing and TestNG for executing tests.
  • Experience with Cucumber for behavior-driven development (BDD) and familiarity with Gherkin syntax.
  • Expertise in API testing using tools such as Rest Assured, Postman, and API Fortress, along with experience in load and performance testing using JMeter.
  • A solid understanding of AWS services and cloud environments, with experience in Kubernetes for container orchestration and Docker for containerization.
  • Familiarity with integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using tools like Maven and Jenkins.
  • Strong manual testing capabilities, including exploratory and regression testing, with proficiency in bug tracking and test management tools such as JIRA.
  • Knowledge of scripting languages like Python or Bash for test automation and environment setup, as well as security testing tools and methodologies to ensure application security would be advantageous.
