Position Overview

Automation Testing Engineer | Remote Opportunity | Permanent Role

Experis is collaborating with a dynamic technology consultancy seeking to onboard a skilled Automation Testing Engineer to work remotely. The ideal candidate will be expected to engage in occasional travel for team meetings.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement automated testing scripts for both functional and non-functional assessments, including performance, security, and resource utilization, using suitable frameworks and tools.
  • Work closely with software developers to promote best practices in unit testing and assist in the creation of testable code.
  • Review existing testing methodologies, pinpoint automation prospects, and convert manual tests into automated formats.
  • Collaborate with DevOps teams to embed automated tests within CI/CD pipelines and establish effective testing infrastructure and tools.
  • Provide constructive feedback to developers regarding code testability and recommend improvements to enhance overall code quality.
  • Champion the principles of test automation and early testing within the organization, encouraging teamwork and knowledge exchange.
  • Examine test outcomes, recognize patterns, and present actionable insights to relevant stakeholders.
  • Document automation testing processes and best practices for future reference.
  • Guide and mentor junior team members.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Significant experience in software quality assurance, particularly in automation testing for libraries and SDKs.
  • Strong commitment to software quality, advocating for early testing and reduced feedback cycles.
  • Proficient in testing low-level programming languages, with a preference for C++.
  • Demonstrated willingness to learn, adapt, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Considerable development and scripting experience in Python.
  • Exceptional communication and teamwork skills.
  • Solid understanding of unit testing principles.
  • Experience working within an Agile Scrum team, leading in-sprint test case development and performing exploratory testing.
  • Familiarity with test-driven development (TDD); knowledge of Robot Framework is advantageous.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Agile methodologies and DevOps practices, particularly in the context of continuous delivery for software libraries.
  • Experience with non-functional testing strategies.
  • Proficient in working with cloud platforms, including building, deploying, and testing applications in these environments.
  • Knowledgeable about CI/CD pipelines and their integration with automated testing workflows.
