This exciting opportunity will see you working in the Medical Education department, delivering teaching, training, and simulation to medical students, foundation trainees, junior doctors, and the wider multi-professional clinical workforce.
Main Duties of the JobThe purpose of this post is to support teaching and simulation education across our trust, primarily supporting the delivery of the junior doctors and medical students programme, in accordance with their curriculum. Further delivery opportunities, including externally, regionally, and nationally, will be directed by the DME and Simulation Lead. The trust currently delivers regular sessions running either 'in situ' or based within the newly created clinical teaching unit.
This post has been designed primarily for ST1 (or 'F3') level trainees, although this is not a training post. We welcome applicants to this post who are undertaking clinical commitments.
Working for Our OrganisationThe Queen Elizabeth Hospital King's Lynn is located near some of the most beautiful scenery in the UK, along the north Norfolk coast. We provide a comprehensive range of specialist, acute, obstetrics, and community-based healthcare services to around 331,000 people across west and north Norfolk, in addition to parts of Breckland, Cambridgeshire, and South Lincolnshire.
We have more than 4,000 staff and volunteers, approximately 530 beds, and a helipad for air ambulances. We work with neighbouring hospitals for the provision of tertiary services, including as part of regional partnership and network models of care, such as the trauma network.
In recognition of the significant progress made at QEH, the Care Quality Commission rated the Trust as 'Good' in all core services inspected, recommending the Trust move out of the recovery support system.

Person SpecificationThe ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and experience:
- MBBS or equivalent medical qualification
- Satisfactory completion of F1/F2 post or equivalent
Desirable criteria include:
- Distinctions, scholarships, prizes
- 12 Months continuous experience within the NHS
- Additional degrees, e.g., MSc, PhD
- Formal teaching qualification (PGCE or equivalent)
- Simulation Instructor 'Train the Trainers' course or similar
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
- Knowledge of UK health systems, practices, and values; awareness of current issues in the NHS
- Understanding of the importance and impact of information systems in healthcare
- Ability to practice evidence-based medicine
- Evidence of continuous professional development
The ideal candidate will have:

- Experience of medical simulation as candidate or instructor
