A great opportunity has arisen to join Bristol City Council's Data and Insight Team at an exciting time as we develop our Azure Data and Analytics Platform. You will join a team providing corporate-wide data and analytics to achieve the strategic objective of becoming increasingly data-driven, facilitating better decision-making.

About the Role

We require an enthusiastic, self-motivated, and experienced Data Engineer to join our Data Engineering Team. This team is responsible for the loading and transformation of data from source systems into our Azure-hosted Data Lake.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitoring and maintaining existing, as well as developing new, data loading pipelines to migrate data into the data lake from corporate source systems for use in data analytics.
  • Developing processes to automate data loads on an agreed schedule, ensuring data quality and accuracy is always maintained, and implementing amendments and changes to data loads as required.
  • Collaborating with the Data Management Lead and Data Analytics Team to ensure that data in the data lake is secure, classified correctly, and transformed appropriately for use in PowerBI reports.

Requirements

You will need an enquiring mind and be capable of troubleshooting and resolving often complex data-related processes using Azure-based applications.
