About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Field Telecoms Engineer to join our team at The Engineer. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for configuring, installing, and maintaining various telecoms equipment, including phone lines, broadband, hosted cloud telephony, on-premise phone systems, IP networks, Wi-Fi, and IP CCTV.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Configure and install telecoms and networking infrastructure, including routers, switches, phones, and Wi-Fi access points
  • Conduct pre-installation meetings and gather data for pre-build solutions
  • Assist with the provisioning of new customers and services
  • On-site installation of telecoms equipment
  • Provide training to customers on solutions, both on-site and remotely
  • Travel and overnight stays may be required
Requirements:
  • A background in telecommunications/network installations
  • Experience working with CW1308 telephone cabling
  • Install, terminate, and test Cat5, Cat6, and Cat6a
  • Testing using a Fluke tester
  • Patching panels - Cat5, Cat6, and Cat6a
  • Experience installing and supporting PBX systems, such as LG Ericsson, Samsung OfficeServ, Panasonic, or similar
  • Experience installing and supporting hosted (VOIP/SIP) telephone solutions
  • Experience installing and supporting network and WiFi hardware, such as routers and switches supplied by Draytek, Ubiquiti, and Zyxel
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills for both on-premise and hosted telephony solutions
  • Good understanding of SIP, VOIP, and networking, especially network switch and router configuration
  • A current UK driving license
