Job Description

Pre-School Setting Leader

This role is responsible for the day-to-day management of the pre-school setting, ensuring high-quality provision and a welcoming environment for children and carers. The successful candidate will be responsible for the management of the learning environment, including setting up and maintaining learning resources, creating displays of children's work, and preparing and evaluating areas of continuous provision.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Co-ordinate and manage the day-to-day running of the setting
  • Provide a warm and welcoming environment for children and carers
  • Manage the learning environment, including setting up and maintaining learning resources
  • Prepare and evaluate areas of continuous provision
  • Undertake necessary administrative tasks, including completion of returns and admission arrangements
  • Ensure the setting is safe, well-organised and maintained at all times
  • Ensure compliance with policies and procedures relating to child protection, health, safety and security, confidentiality and data protection
  • Be responsible for the self-evaluation of provision in line with CIW and/or Estyn guidance
  • Be legally responsible as the 'Person in Charge' under CIW regulations

Requirements:

The successful candidate will have experience of working in a similar role and will have a strong understanding of the needs of children and carers. They will be able to work independently and as part of a team, and will have excellent communication and organisational skills.
