Senior Geotechnical Engineer

Approach Personnel Ltd is seeking a highly skilled Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join their Northamptonshire-based team. As a Senior Geotechnical Engineer, you will be responsible for managing a variety of projects from inception to completion, managing financial budgets, and undertaking fieldwork and supervision of site contractors.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Manage projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and budget adherence.
  2. Manage financial budgets for projects, ensuring accurate forecasting and cost control.
  3. Undertake fieldwork and supervision of site contractors, ensuring compliance with safety protocols and quality standards.
  4. Prepare desk study reports, interpretative geotechnical and geoenvironmental reports, and waste classification assessments to current UK standards.
  5. Provide recommendations on characterising ground conditions, foundation design, ground improvements, earthworks, basements, retaining walls, mining, and slope stability assessments.
Requirements
  1. Proven experience of at least 5 years in working for a consultancy in geotechnical and geoenvironmental engineering, with a strong portfolio of successful projects.
  2. BSc in Geology or related.
  3. MSc in Geotechnical/Geological Engineering.
  4. Either Chartered or working towards.
  5. Computer and Geotechnical Software Literate.
  6. Full UK Clean Driving License and willingness to travel as part of the role.
  7. CSCS Card advantageous but not essential.
