Position Overview:
We are in search of a Technical Supervisor to become part of our team at Temple Quarry.
As a Technical Supervisor, your role will involve supporting the Technical Manager in the effective operation of UKAS accredited laboratories and the testing of construction materials throughout the organization.

Assisting the Technical Manager in upholding the Laboratory's UKAS accreditation scope and aiding in its expansion.Supporting the Technical Manager in maintaining Laboratory Quality Management Systems, including manuals and standards reviews and updates.Collaborating with production, contracting, and sales teams to fully understand the material specifications for each project, using this information to develop, review, and implement asphalt and concrete mix designs.Ensuring that laboratories and sites are adequately resourced to meet contract requirements, and that equipment is properly maintained and calibrated.Maintaining cleanliness and operational efficiency of laboratories and ensuring all equipment is in optimal working condition.Supervising and managing all laboratory and site personnel, ensuring accurate sampling and testing of materials, and implementing effective reporting structures.Ensuring that key roles are filled by qualified individuals who understand their responsibilities, with regular performance reviews to motivate achievement of both business and personal goals.Hosting Internal and External Auditors during audits and providing necessary documentation and information.Monitoring material production and addressing any arising issues with effective solutions.Fostering strong relationships between the company and clients (or their representatives), providing essential information regarding material testing and quality.Advising site personnel on quality control and technical aspects of contracts.Complying with all relevant statutory provisions and ensuring the safety, health, and welfare of yourself and colleagues.Adhering to all company policies, procedures, and site regulations.Assisting the Technical Manager with investigations into complaints.What we require from you...
Essential QualificationsA-Level education (or equivalent)A minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience in a similar role or within the construction sectorProficient in Microsoft Office, particularly ExcelExperience with recognized accreditation standards, such as BS, ISO, NRAFamiliarity with current UK and NRA (BS EN) standards for aggregates, subbases, and coated materialsKnowledge of testing procedures for aggregate, bituminous, unbound, and earthworks materialsExperience working in a team-oriented environment, providing support and information to colleaguesFlexibility in working hours, including the potential for night shifts or weekendsA valid driving license to fulfill the role's responsibilitiesDesirable QualificationsExperience and understanding of on-site testing, particularly related to highway contracts and surfacing.Additional Information...
