Oxford, Oxfordshire, United Kingdom Helen & Douglas House Full time

Position Overview

Are you an imaginative Childcare Specialist or Care Provider? We welcome you to become part of our compassionate team where you will create a secure, encouraging, and nurturing atmosphere for the children and families we assist. Our organization operates around the clock, and while prior experience with children who have special needs or in a care environment is beneficial, it is not mandatory.

Salary Range for Band 3: £26,416 - £27,976 per annum pro rata

Salary Range for Band 4: £29,016 - £31,616 per annum pro rata

We consider both full-time and part-time positions. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and during school breaks is essential, as care is provided at the family's request. Work schedules are provided six weeks in advance, ensuring you have adequate notice of your working hours and patterns.

Key Responsibilities

As a member of our Care Team, collaborating with Registered Nurses within a multidisciplinary environment, your focus will be on delivering exceptional care. By fostering and enhancing children's focus, creativity, and sense of exploration, you will positively impact their lives and those of their families. In this palliative and respite care context, we are dedicated to offering individualized care and creating cherished memories.

We seek candidates who hold an NVQ/Diploma in Health and Social Care/Childcare or an equivalent qualification, along with substantial experience in a related care environment. You will be an effective communicator, capable of adjusting your communication style to suit a diverse range of individuals and situations. Your role will involve implementing activities for children with special needs and those who are unwell, utilizing both your initiative and teamwork skills.

Our organization is a registered charity dedicated to providing palliative, respite, end-of-life, and bereavement care to children with life-limiting conditions and their families. The care we provide is often misinterpreted; our work is uplifting, positive, and has a transformative impact. Our facility is a vibrant, dynamic, and joyful place to work, featuring a lovely outdoor garden area for both our patients and staff to enjoy.
