This position is for a Wastewater Operations Specialist within Scotland's largest wastewater facility. You will be instrumental in driving innovative practices that foster a sustainable future. Your responsibilities;

  • Report to the Working Supervisor regarding site operations, compliance, and efficiency at the wastewater facility
  • Optimize and troubleshoot processes and equipment, assisting the team in resolving operational challenges
  • Perform basic maintenance tasks to ensure smooth operations
  • Collaborate with external contractors, providing on-site support for maintenance activities
  • Offer support and feedback to senior maintenance and operations personnel
  • Conduct site sampling and analysis
  • Gain expertise in the Seafield Sludge Treatment Centre operations (including Dewatering, Anaerobic Digestion, Gas Production, CHP Operation and Maintenance, and Thermal Hydrolysis Process).
  • Acquire knowledge of the Seafield Wastewater Treatment Works operations (including Preliminary Treatment, Primary Treatment, and Biological Treatment).

While training will be provided for those lacking experience, the following qualifications would be advantageous:

  • Experience in managing operational processes and assets (wastewater experience preferred but not mandatory)
  • Proficiency in spreadsheet software and familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems
  • Health and Safety awareness or certifications
  • Experience with Permit to Work systems
  • Familiarity with Risk Assessments
