We are currently looking for a Wastewater Modelling Specialist to contribute to our operations in the Glasgow/Edinburgh region. The selected candidate will collaborate with a dedicated team of geographers and engineers, playing a pivotal role in serving various clients, including water utilities, local government bodies, and developers.
Project Scope:
Our team undertakes a variety of projects focusing on wastewater and integrated networks. This includes conducting feasibility studies, scoping projects, and performing catchment drainage assessments utilizing advanced computer modelling techniques. Our analyses support operational and environmental recommendations and other necessary interventions.
Qualifications:
- BSc/BEng/MEng degree in engineering, geography, GIS, or a related scientific discipline, or equivalent experience.
- A genuine interest in the water sector and sustainability, with a commitment to addressing the challenges faced by the water environment.
- Ability to work effectively within a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Self-motivated and proactive in approach.
- A desire for continuous learning and professional development towards achieving relevant qualifications.
- Developing computer models to analyze flooding and environmental issues, generating preliminary solutions.
- Conducting data analysis.
- Assisting in the preparation of reports and other project documentation.
- Carrying out site surveys and assessments.
- Preparing and adhering to health and safety risk assessments.
- Previous experience in similar roles related to water and drainage.
- Familiarity with Infoworks ICM software.
- Understanding of the water cycle.
- Experience with Geographic Information Systems (MapInfo/ArcGIS).
- Programming skills in Visual Basic or Python.
- Knowledge of computer modelling principles.
- Possession of a valid UK driving licence.
