We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Specialised Therapeutic Radiographer to join our team as a Digital Clinical Placement Educator. This is an exciting opportunity to work with us and contribute to the development of our digital clinical placement education program.
Key Responsibilities- Education and Training: Provide high-quality education and training to pre and post-registration learners in radiotherapy, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to deliver safe and effective patient care.
- Digital Clinical Placement Design and Delivery: Work closely with the digital clinical placement team to design and deliver digital clinical placements that meet the needs of our learners and the NHS Education and Workforce priorities.
- Coaching and Mentoring: Provide coaching and mentoring to learners to help them develop their skills and knowledge in radiotherapy education.
- Communication and Relationship Skills: Develop and maintain effective relationships with learners, colleagues, and senior managers to ensure seamless communication and collaboration.
- Knowledge, Training, and Experience: Possess a highly specialist level of knowledge in education theory and practice, modern radiotherapy and oncology theory, and technical and clinical practice.
- Analytical and Judgemental Skills: Advise senior colleagues on the management of clinical education provision for pre-registration radiographers and pre-qualification assistant practitioners.
- Planning and Organisational Skills: Plan and organise the rosters for learners and ensure that the full roster is agreed with the partner universities for learning placements during their clinical placements.
- Physical Skills: Develop and maintain the technical skills required to prepare, facilitate, and/or deliver a radiotherapy treatment.
- Responsibility for Patient/Client Care: Rostered to undertake highly specialist clinical technical imaging or treatment services and provide education advice.
- Responsibility for Policy/Service Development: Responsible for proposing departmental policy in relation to the education and training functions of the service.
- Responsibility for Financial and Physical Resources: Responsible for the safe use of expensive or highly complex equipment.
- Responsibility for Human Resources: Responsible for highly specialist teaching to pre and post-registration learners in radiotherapy.
- Responsibility for Information Resources: Record personally generated information and ensure compliance with best practice in data management.
- Responsibility for Research and Development: May undertake independent research with the agreement of the Professional Head of Radiotherapy.
- Freedom to Act: Expected results and outcomes will be defined by the Principal Radiographer for Clinical Education.
To be successful in this role, you will need to have:
- A BSc (Hons) in Radiotherapy and appropriate Oncology, Radiotherapy or Educational qualification at Masters level.
- Professional clinical knowledge acquired through a BSc (Hons) in Radiotherapy and appropriate Oncology, Radiotherapy or Educational qualification at Masters level.
- Experience in digital clinical placement education and coaching frameworks.
- Experience in radiotherapy education at all levels (as per outlined by the national ACCeND oncology career framework).
