Job Summary

An exciting opportunity has been created for a radiotherapy educator with experience in digital clinical placement design and delivery to join The Christie NHS FT team. This position is funded through a digital clinical placement tariff, and the focus is on supporting digital clinical placement delivery, scalability, and sustainability.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
  • Support for digital clinical placement project design and delivery across Integrated Care Systems, including National Programmes.
  • Maintaining and maturing a leadership coaching model to create a psychological safe learning and working environment in clinical placement practice.
  • Maintaining learner safety, including risk assessment, progression, and assessment, placement completion, and tariff-related activity in line with the NHS Education Contract.
  • Delivering radiotherapy education activity supported by the core education leadership teams, in line with highly specialised radiotherapy education, in line with relevant legislation, IR(ME)R, MHRA, and Care Quality Commission standards.
  • Influencing radiotherapy education frameworks, including risk and risk mitigation, to ensure high levels of training standards that provide good care and clinical outcomes for patients.
  • Supporting pre-registration and post-registration radiotherapy-related training, including inductions, preceptorship, progression, support, and supervision, ensuring inclusivity.

Key Requirements
  • DCR(T) or BSc (Hons) in Therapeutic Radiography
  • Therapeutic Radiographer State Registered Therapeutic Radiographer
  • HCPC Registration
  • Evidence of CPD activity
  • Evidence of postgraduate study/education in an area relevant to the role
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • M-level qualification in an associated subject
  • Management qualification
  • IT skills

Knowledge and Experience
  • Knowledge and experience of advanced and complex treatment techniques
  • Advanced knowledge of IR(ME)R 2000 and IRR 1999 and responsibilities relating to own professional practice
  • Good knowledge of other relevant legislation, guidance, and national working parties in radiotherapy
  • Expert knowledge of the principles of radiotherapy applied to all aspects of the radiotherapy pathway
