National Learning and Development Director

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Learning and Development professional to join our team as a National Learning and Development Manager. This is an exciting opportunity to drive learning and development initiatives on a national scale and make a tangible impact on workforce development.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and execute a national Learning and Development strategy that drives organisational success.
- Manage and deploy the Learning Management System (LMS), ensuring it is utilised effectively across the business.
- Design and deliver a variety of training programmes, including workshops, e-learning, and leadership development.
- Conduct training needs assessments and develop strategies for workforce development and succession planning.
- Collaborate with senior leaders, HR Business Partners, and department heads to identify skill gaps and align training with business objectives.
- Lead and develop a team of learning and development professionals, including managing the Learning and Skills Project Lead.
- Work with external providers to deliver apprenticeship schemes and drive the utilisation of the Apprenticeship Levy.
- Measure and evaluate the effectiveness of training initiatives, continuously striving for improvement.
- Proven experience in a senior learning and development role, ideally within a national or multi-site organisation.
- Strong knowledge of L&D strategies, methodologies, and tools, with experience managing an LMS.
- Ability to write and manage e-learning content and deliver face-to-face training up to management level.
- Working knowledge of the Apprenticeship Levy and experience with apprenticeship schemes.
- Excellent leadership, project management, and team management skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships across all levels of the business.
- Willingness to travel nationally and stay away from home as required.
