We are seeking an experienced and skilled professional to lead our LGV Test Centre as a Commercial Vehicle Operations Manager. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing the efficient operation of our test centre and workshop, ensuring high levels of productivity and efficiency in the servicing and repair of LGVs, PCVs, and Light Commercial Vehicles.
Key Responsibilities:
- Workshop Management: Lead the daily operations, ensuring high levels of efficiency and productivity in the servicing and repair of commercial vehicles.
- Business Development & Sales: Drive growth through strategic business development and effective sales initiatives, identifying new opportunities and expanding our customer base.
- Budget & Cost Control: Manage budgets and control costs, ensuring financial efficiency and profitability.
- Health & Safety Compliance: Enforce rigorous health and safety standards within the workshop, ensuring a safe working environment for all employees.
- Customer Relations: Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, ensuring effective fleet maintenance and customer satisfaction.
- Workload Planning: Plan and schedule workloads, including managing the ATF lane, to ensure efficient use of resources and minimize downtime.
- Supplier Negotiations: Negotiate with suppliers to secure competitive pricing on parts, ensuring cost-effectiveness and quality.
- Invoicing Systems: Oversee and ensure the effective operation of invoicing systems, ensuring accurate and timely billing.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Commercial Experience: Proven track record in business development and sales, with a strong understanding of the commercial vehicle industry.
- Managerial Experience: Previous experience managing a workshop, particularly with LGVs, PCVs, and Light Commercial Vehicles, with a proven ability to lead and motivate teams.
- Leadership Skills: Strong team leadership and management abilities, with a focus on developing and empowering employees.
- Communication Skills: Excellent organisational, prioritisation, and communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with customers, employees, and suppliers.
- IT Skills: Proficient in IT, with the ability to manage invoicing and other digital systems, ensuring efficient and effective operations.
- Preferred: Category C or C&E driving license (preferred but not mandatory).
