LGV Test Centre Manager

Cramlington

Salary: £43,000 - £48,000

Hours: 07:00-16:30 (week 1) and then 09:30-19:00 and Saturday morning (week 2)

We are seeking an experienced LGV Test Centre Manager to oversee the efficient operation of our test centre and workshop.

Key Responsibilities
  • Workshop Management: Lead daily operations, ensuring high levels of efficiency and productivity in the servicing and repair of LGVs, PCVs, and Light Commercial Vehicles.
  • Business Development & Sales: Drive growth through strategic business development and effective sales initiatives.
  • Budget & Cost Control: Manage budgets and control costs, ensuring financial efficiency.
  • Health & Safety Compliance: Enforce rigorous health and safety standards within the workshop.
  • Customer Relations: Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, ensuring effective fleet maintenance.
  • Workload Planning: Plan and schedule workloads, including managing the ATF lane.
  • Supplier Negotiations: Negotiate with suppliers to secure competitive pricing on parts.
  • Invoicing Systems: Oversee and ensure the effective operation of invoicing systems.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Commercial Experience: Proven track record in business development and sales.
  • Managerial Experience: Previous experience managing a workshop, particularly with LGVs, PCVs, and Light Commercial Vehicles.
  • Leadership Skills: Strong team leadership and management abilities.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent organisational, prioritisation, and communication skills.
  • IT Skills: Proficient in IT, with the ability to manage invoicing and other digital systems.
  • Preferred: Category C or C&E driving license (preferred but not mandatory).
