LGV Test Centre Manager Job Description

We are seeking an experienced LGV Test Centre Manager to oversee the efficient operation of our test centre and workshop in Cramlington. Reporting directly to the Logistics Director, you will play a crucial role in ensuring high levels of efficiency and productivity in the servicing and repair of LGVs, PCVs, and Light Commercial Vehicles.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Workshop Management: Lead the daily operations, ensuring high levels of efficiency and productivity in the servicing and repair of LGVs, PCVs, and Light Commercial Vehicles.
  • Business Development & Sales: Drive growth through strategic business development and effective sales initiatives.
  • Budget & Cost Control: Manage budgets and control costs, ensuring financial efficiency.
  • Health & Safety Compliance: Enforce rigorous health and safety standards within the workshop.
  • Customer Relations: Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, ensuring effective fleet maintenance.
  • Workload Planning: Plan and schedule workloads, including managing the ATF lane.
  • Supplier Negotiations: Negotiate with suppliers to secure competitive pricing on parts.
  • Invoicing Systems: Oversee and ensure the effective operation of invoicing systems.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Commercial Experience: Proven track record in business development and sales.
  • Managerial Experience: Previous experience managing a workshop, particularly with LGVs, PCVs, and Light Commercial Vehicles.
  • Leadership Skills: Strong team leadership and management abilities.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent organisational, prioritisation, and communication skills.
  • IT Skills: Proficient in IT, with the ability to manage invoicing and other digital systems.
  • Preferred: Category C or C&E driving license (preferred but not mandatory).
