Lead Structural Engineer

FM Conway is seeking a qualified Senior Structural Engineer to enhance our Consultancy division. This position is full-time and permanent, offering a competitive salary along with a comprehensive benefits package.
As a Senior Structural Engineer, you will spearhead significant projects and provide mentorship to our talented engineering team. Your role will involve close collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring adherence to technical and quality standards through proactive design solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Developing structural designs utilizing concrete, steel, timber, and masonry materials.
- Creating designs for both permanent and temporary structures, aligned with applicable design standards and regulations.
- Conducting structural evaluations for various types of structures, including highways and buildings.
- Assisting local authorities with asset management strategies by leading inspections and site surveys of highway structures.
- Overseeing health and safety protocols during both design and construction phases.
- Contributing to the preparation of tender documents, including fee proposals and quality statements.
Required Skills and Experience:
We are looking for a motivated and skilled Senior Structural Engineer with a strong background in highway design, familiar with DMRD, LCDS, and TSRGD. Proficiency in AutoCAD and swept path analysis is essential. Candidates should possess a BEng/BSc in Civil Engineering or an equivalent qualification, along with experience in highway engineering. A Chartered membership with the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) or the Institution of Structural Engineers is preferred.
