About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Learning Support Assistant to join our team at Brook Street UK. As an LSA, you will play a crucial role in supporting young people aged 10 to 18 with complex needs in a secure environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and in-class support to young people with additional learning needs across the curriculum.
- Assist in creating an inclusive learning environment where all young people can thrive.
- Work with teachers and care practitioners to deliver tailored support and monitor progress.
- Help inspire young people to engage in their learning journey and develop positive behaviors.
Requirements
- Good IT skills, including experience with MS Office, email, and databases.
- Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, and interpersonal).
- Ability to work as part of a team and independently using your own initiative.
- Strong problem-solving skills, particularly when dealing with challenging behavior.
- A good understanding of child and adolescent development.
- Knowledge of restorative practices, trauma-informed approaches, and safeguarding.
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics.
- Experience working with children or young people in a residential or educational setting.
