Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Community Learning Disability Nurse to join our Intensive Support Team (IST) as a Clinical Lead. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing day-to-day clinical and operational leadership to the team, ensuring the delivery of an enhanced model of support to individuals with learning disabilities who are at risk of hospital admission.

About the Role

The IST is a service designed to support individuals with learning disabilities who are struggling with mental health crisis and/or behavioural distress. The team works in partnership with local service users and key agencies to provide vital support in helping people remain safe in the community. As a Clinical Lead, you will be responsible for providing clinical supervision, teaching and training others, and developing the clinical skills of the team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide day-to-day clinical and operational leadership to the IST team
  • Develop and implement clinical strategies to reduce avoidable admissions to hospital
  • Provide clinical supervision and support to team members
  • Teach and train others on positive behaviour support and risk management
  • Develop and maintain relationships with local service users and key agencies
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

Registered Nurse Learning Disability qualification and NMC registrationAccredited behavioural qualification at level 5 or aboveSignificant experience of working clinically with people who have intellectual and developmental disabilitiesExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAbout Us
