Chester, Cheshire, United Kingdom Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust Full time

Position Overview

Employment Type: Full-time

We are excited to announce an opportunity for a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse to join our Clinical Research Unit (CRU) and Mobile Research Unit (MRU). This role is ideal for a nurse with a robust clinical background and substantial post-registration experience who is eager to transition into the field of clinical research.

The Research and Innovation department at Countess of Chester Hospital is seeking a proactive, positive, and motivated individual to become part of our Acute & General Medicine Clinical Research Delivery Team. A background in acute NHS care settings is essential, as this position is primarily focused on supporting research across various medical specialties. The successful candidate will be expected to provide assistance and coverage for fellow team members.

In this role, you will have the chance to engage in a variety of academic and commercial NIHR Portfolio studies, supporting trials conducted both on-site and through our innovative Mobile Research Unit (MRU).

We encourage informal visits or communication to help prospective candidates gain a clearer understanding of the role's expectations.

Key Responsibilities

The selected candidate will join a growing team and will be responsible for the daily management of assigned NIHR Portfolio studies while contributing positively to team goals.

Strong communication and teamwork skills are crucial, as you will collaborate closely with existing team members and play a vital role in the screening, clinical evaluation, recruitment, and follow-up of study participants.

A significant aspect of this position involves collaborative efforts. You will need to demonstrate initiative and confidence in engaging with individuals at all levels. The ability to autonomously plan, adapt, and manage competing priorities while supporting the developmental needs of colleagues and any direct reports is essential.

Proficiency in IT is required, along with the capability to meet tight deadlines, maintain a high standard of accuracy, and exhibit strong attention to detail.

While prior research experience is beneficial, it is not mandatory, as we offer comprehensive training and support for the right candidate who is enthusiastic about clinical research within the NHS.

Recent clinical experience in a secondary care environment is a prerequisite, and you will be expected to maintain your clinical skills relevant to the role while also developing new competencies as necessary.

Travel to support study participants may be required.
