About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Specialist Nurse to join our team at Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear (CNTW) NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing expert care and support to patients with dual diagnosis, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments to identify patient needs and develop personalized care plans.
  • Provide specialist training, advice, and guidance to colleagues to enhance their knowledge and skills in dual diagnosis care.
  • Assess complex clinical risk and develop risk management plans to ensure effective safeguarding for patients and staff.
  • Lead on audit and service development initiatives to improve dual diagnosis care and treatment approaches.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including medics, nurses, psychologists, and allied health professionals, to deliver high-quality patient care.
Requirements
  • Relevant clinical experience and postgraduate qualification in dual diagnosis care.
  • First-level nursing qualification and registration.
  • Knowledge and experience of drug and alcohol service pathways and interfaces.
  • Proven track record of providing professional leadership within clinical services.
  • Excellent communication and liaison skills, with the ability to motivate others and work under pressure.
