Job Summary

Stagecoach Group is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Body Coach Builder Apprentice. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for learning and developing the skills required to become a world-class engineer.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the maintenance and repair of coaches and buses
  • Learn and develop skills in welding, glazing, and painting
  • Participate in the removal and refitting of body panels
  • Contribute to the repair of damage to body panels
  • Assist in interior repairs, including rectifying damage to seats and flooring
  • Support in vehicle preparation and masking for painting

Training and Development

You will attend a specialized training college in Glasgow, where you will work towards achieving the Bus and Coach Engineering Technician Standard. In the fourth and final year, you will participate in a bespoke program crafted by Stagecoach UK Bus, endorsed and certified by the Institute of the Motor Industry.

Requirements

  • Genuine interest in engineering
  • Three GCSEs at grade C or above or grade 4 or above
  • Standard grades 1 - 3
  • National 4 or 5 in English Language, Mathematics, and a Science
