Overview of the Role...

The Community Content Specialist plays a crucial role in understanding and reflecting the unique culture, interests, and requirements of our local neighbourhoods. This position involves the research, sourcing, organization, and presentation of engaging local content on our digital platforms. The goal is to create a vibrant community atmosphere while supporting local businesses and events.

We value a modern approach to work with our hybrid model, allowing you to balance office and remote work effectively. You will typically spend 2-3 days a week in the office, with the remainder of your time spent working from home. During your initial training and probation period, we may request additional office attendance to ensure you receive the necessary support and resources for your success. Your comfort and confidence in your role are our top priorities, and we are dedicated to providing the flexibility you need to thrive. If you prefer a more office-centric schedule, that option is also available.

To promote a healthy work-life balance, we offer an optional 9-day fortnight scheme*. This arrangement allows you to condense your work hours into nine days, giving you an extra day off every two weeks. This initiative is designed to empower you to achieve greater flexibility and recharge, ensuring you perform at your best.

Key Responsibilities...

  • Engage actively with various teams and community members to gather content and understand local needs. Building strong relationships within the community is essential, including attending local events and being a visible presence.
  • Oversee the organization and presentation of content on our website, ensuring it is user-friendly, engaging, and regularly updated to reflect current interests and feedback.
  • Stay informed about local trends and developments to keep content relevant and timely. This includes monitoring news sources, social media, and community input to identify emerging topics of interest.
  • Ensure all content meets high-quality standards and aligns with community values. This involves reviewing and editing for accuracy, relevance, and appropriateness, catering to the diverse interests of the community.

  • Demonstrated experience in content creation and curation, ideally within a community-focused environment.
  • Strong knowledge of the local community and culture, with a genuine passion for supporting local businesses and events.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of fostering strong community relationships.
  • Ability to work autonomously, take initiative, and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Familiarity with digital tools for content management, including social media platforms and content management systems.
