Raw Material Procurement Specialist

As a Raw Material Procurement Specialist, your primary responsibility will be to ensure the timely and accurate call-off and placement of purchase orders for raw materials and packaging, aligning with the production schedule.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Raw Material Call Off: Oversee the procurement of necessary raw materials and packaging items according to the production plan, while complying with established inventory policies. You will be tasked with generating purchase orders in SAP with approved suppliers.
  • Identifying Material Shortages: Proactively identify any shortages in materials and expedite procurement at minimal cost to meet production needs, escalating issues as required.
  • Order Status Monitoring: Keep track of order statuses and resolve any issues with suppliers, including necessary adjustments to orders.
  • Inventory Management: Analyze inventory levels, assist with cycle counting, and establish safety stock levels to mitigate supply risks while optimizing costs.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive improvements by implementing practical problem-solving techniques and other relevant methodologies.

Qualifications and Skills:

Essential:

  • Possess sound academic qualifications (GCSEs or equivalent) with a focus on Mathematics and English.
  • Demonstrate strong numerical skills to accurately record, interpret, and analyze key process data.

Desirable:

  • Experience with SAP is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel.
  • A minimum of 6 months experience in a procurement or purchasing role within a manufacturing setting.
