Cheshire Constabulary is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Finance Officer to join our Senior Leadership Team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide strategic financial planning and budgeting services to ensure effective resource allocation and rigorous budget control.
  • Develop and implement Medium Term Financial and Estates Strategies in collaboration with senior leaders and the Office of the Police & Crime Commissioner.
  • Lead the finance and estates teams to ensure agility and responsiveness to policing demands, while maintaining high levels of accountability and compliance.
  • Ensure exemplary audit and compliance with statutory legislation and the Constabulary's Scheme of Delegation.
  • Manage financial and management accounting, including legal requirements of the Audit and Accounts Regulations and Capital Expenditure Controls.
Requirements:
  • Full membership of a leading accountancy body (CCAB) - preferably Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA).
  • Substantial financial management experience in a senior accounting role.
  • Sound knowledge and practical skills experience of all aspects of financial and management accounting.
