Truck Commercial Supervisor

**ROLE**:
Reporting to the Area Manager within either the North region. The purpose of the role is to develop the sales and profitability of each Centre and the delivery of an excellent customer experience through a team of Area & Centre Manager direct reports.

**RESPONSIBILITES**:
Customer Excellence:

- Coach and develop the team members to deliver excellent customer service, to portray a professional image, to deal with customers in an efficient manner and to develop ‘potential sales’ by using the full sales tools and processes.
- Ensure the center is appropriately resourced, particularly during holiday periods.
- Ensure mobile techs adhere to customers site experience is safe, professional, well maintained, and welcoming.
- Ensure the Mobile van inside and out area is always kept clean and tidy.
- Audit the center performance and monitor data capture across the center
- Work with the to understand localized marketing needs, devise and agree additional marketing strategy to ensure the customers are aware of our product and service portfolio.

Financial:

- Delivery of a structured business plan for the Area to achieve or exceed the Area’s financial targets
- To drive sales at each centre by ensuring that appropriate sales techniques are used with customers.
- Ensure that all sales opportunities are maximised within the centres in the area. Undertake ongoing reviews of both sales results, management accounts and business results to ensure achievement of financial targets.
- Check quarterly one to ones of mobile techs and report on actions in regards behaviors.
- Hold monthly meetings with Area managers and review the previous month’s sales results and management accounts. Agree actions to defend and develop the business with existing clients and identify new business opportunities.
- Monthly analysis of the management accounts to identify opportunities to improve sales and reduce costs, and/or improve productivity levels.
- Regular monitoring and review of business results to ensure the achievement of centre targets.
- Ensure full support and implementation of all marketing tools and data capture procedures.
- Ensure at each of the centres the account customers operate within agreed credit limits and payments are received when due.
- Monitor competitor activity within the centres and ensure that customer drift is minimized.
- Ensure that profit margins and supplier support is maximized by adopting the agreed company brand strategy.
- Control the use and ordering from 3rd parties’ manufacturers tyre use Castle Cary at first opportunity.
- Ensure that prior authorisation is received before ordering commercial tyres (Sue Rich).

**Health & Safety**:

- Ensure full Health & Safety compliance at all Centres and champion a safety-first culture in the Area
- Review induction and training records to confirm employees have been trained on Health & Safety and put in place any remedial actions required.
- Ensure Area Managers are taking appropriate action to prevent and correct actions on Health & Safety which include communication, training, PPE, equipment repairs and workplace inspections. Ensure all H&S related training and remedial action is documented with dates, times, content, and person(s) attending.
- Investigate accidents and liaise with managers to take corrective action to reduce risk and prevent accidents. Discipline as necessary.
- Ensure all mobile techs carry out toolbox talks and drive actions necessary to reduce the frequency and severity of lost time accidents.
- Carry out Health & Safety benchmark audits and ensure Area Managers & Managers take any necessary preventative and corrective actions.
- Ensure that team members work only on products or services that they have been assessed as competent in or trained to carry out.

**Internal Control**:

- Ensure Centre’s fully comply with all relevant legislation, company process and procedures.
- Support all internal and external audit activities as required.

**Operational Excellence**:

- Ensure the Area Managers adhere to company administrative procedures.
