Maintenance Shift Manager Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Shift Manager to join our team at Ruth Wagstaff Recruitment. As a key member of our production facility, you will be responsible for leading and managing a team of engineers to ensure maximum plant and equipment efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the team to work towards minimizing downtime and ensuring maximum plant and equipment efficiency.
  • Ensure planned engineering tasks are delivered on time and in full, and that good repair and manufacturing practices are followed.
  • Work closely with production staff to achieve daily targets and contribute to cost reduction initiatives to drive efficiency and process improvements.
  • Monitor and approve time sheets for the team, and perform general HR duties such as return to work interviews, investigations, and individual 121 performance reviews.
Requirements:
  • Qualified maintenance engineer with C&G's or NVQ Level 3 or ideally ONC/HNC level.
  • Multi-skilled, mechanical and electrical skills/experience.
  • Apprenticeship trained.
  • Supervisor/team leader experience or good experience to show readiness for the next stage in career.
  • Proactive attitude to solving issues and supporting production.
  • Manufacturing/production experience required.
