About the Role

The Richmond Fellowship Scotland is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Support Worker to join our team. As a Senior Support Worker, you will play a key role in supporting individuals with complex needs in a semi-secure setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Staff Management:
    • Coach and mentor front-line staff, providing regular supervision and support.
    • Identify training needs and ensure staff receive necessary training.
    • Participate in the management of the monthly rota, ensuring staff meet contracted hours and manage holiday cover and absence.
    • Develop staff skills to produce accurate and effective support plans.
    • Cover on-call shift work as needed.
  • Supported Individuals:
    • Plan and facilitate meetings with individuals and stakeholders to collate information for support plans.
    • Effectively match supported individuals to staff members, considering identified outcomes and goals.
    • Maintain good communication with stakeholders and families on behalf of the individuals we support.
    • Support staff to develop skills in managing individuals' health and well-being in line with PBS Support.
  • Organisational:
    • Liaise with external agencies, such as families or Social Work Services.
    • Ensure standards are met, including those set by the SSSC and Care Inspectorate, as well as The Richmond Fellowship Scotland's own standards.
    • Represent the values of The Richmond Fellowship Scotland when engaging with external agencies.
    • Contribute to service development and ensure staff awareness of service-specific goals.
Requirements
  • At least 2 years' experience supporting individuals in care.
  • SVQ Level 3 or willingness to work towards it.
  • PVG checks will be required.
  • Registration with SSSC as a Supervisor in Care at Home and Housing Support Services.
