Key Responsibilities:

The ideal candidate will be responsible for:

  • Leading and supporting the production team in managing the plant program, ensuring that depot plant requirements are met safely and efficiently while adhering to corporate governance and company standards;
  • Collaborating with depot teams and stakeholders to foster effective relationships that enhance the development and execution of the plant program;
  • Securing and confirming the necessary depot track plant for project delivery as requested;
  • Monitoring and controlling plant expenditures for each project, identifying potential budget overruns;
  • Generating reports to track damaged or lost plant, taking proactive measures to mitigate losses with suppliers;
  • Participating in weekly plant meetings with production teams and key suppliers;
  • Conducting ongoing assessments of materials to ensure timely delivery;
  • Maintaining accurate records and receipts of plant resources;
  • Ensuring compliance with safety regulations and procedures during all operations;
  • Overseeing the safety of all material deliveries via rail and road.

Candidate Profile:

We are looking for individuals with the following qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge of Permanent Way operations, particularly related to plant management;
  • Familiarity with relevant rules, regulations, and health and safety standards;
  • Preferably, a background in mechanical certification related to plant operations;
  • Experience with Permanent Way materials and their applications;
  • Essential qualifications include PTS, Lookout, COSS, and Engineering Supervisor, as specified in the Core Competence Profile;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to manage teams effectively;
  • Commercial awareness with a knack for identifying operational efficiencies.

Essential Skills:

  • Proficiency in computer applications;
  • Valid driving license.
