About CPI

CPI is a leading innovation centre that drives the development of new products and processes for a wide range of industries. Our Colloid Science team is a key part of this effort, working on projects that involve the characterisation and formulation of materials.

The Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic student to join our Colloid Science team as a placement student. The successful candidate will have a strong background in physical chemistry or a related field and will be able to assist the team with the technical delivery of projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Colloid Science team with the technical delivery of projects
  • Manage your own work plan to execute experimental work, including relevant measurement and analysis techniques to characterise properties relevant to formulation performance
  • Interpret and report experimental results for internal peer review
  • Consistently deliver high-quality work, including during the operation of lab equipment, recording of data, documentation of decisions and reporting of results
  • Maintain safe working practices
