The Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Placement Student to join our Colloid Science team. As a Placement Student, you will be responsible for assisting the team with:

  • Technical delivery of projects
  • Managing your own work plan to execute experimental work, including relevant measurement and analysis techniques to characterise properties relevant to formulation performance
  • Interpreting and reporting experimental results for internal peer review
  • Consistently delivering high-quality work, including during the operation of lab equipment, recording of data, documentation of decisions and reporting of results
  • Maintaining safe working practices

Some Exciting Projects

Our team has recently worked on:

  • Biodegradable plastics inspired by nature, for nature
  • Edible ink formulation to enable personalised confectionary
  • Optimising formulations for 3D printed solid-state batteries

The Ideal Candidate

You will be studying towards (or have recently completed) a Degree in Physical Chemistry or a related field. You should be enthusiastic, have effective interpersonal skills, and be willing to learn to gain hands-on/practical experience. The ideal candidate will be committed to, and actively seek opportunities to develop themselves within this new and exciting role.
