CPI is seeking a talented Placement Student to join our Product Design team on a 12-month fixed-term basis. As a Placement Student, you will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects, including medical technologies, healthcare, and life sciences.
The Role
As a Placement Student, you will assist our team members with research, design, prototyping, and testing of electro-mechanical devices. You will gain expertise in additive manufacturing, including design, operation, and maintenance of such systems. You will also develop an in-depth understanding of the product development process and the key aspects involved in developing highly regulated products such as medical devices.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist team members with research, design, prototyping, and testing of electro-mechanical devices.
- Become an expert on various forms of additive manufacturing.
- Gain an in-depth understanding of the product development process.
- Develop new and innovative manufacturing processes or demonstration devices.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will be studying towards an undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product or Industrial Design, or a related field. You should have some knowledge and practical experience of design, development, and manufacture of mechanical devices. You should also have experience in using 3D CAD software and rapid prototyping techniques such as 3D printing.
