CPI is seeking a talented Placement Student to join our Product Design team on a 12-month fixed-term basis. As a key member of our team, you will assist in the design, development, and testing of innovative products and processes for various applications, particularly in medical technologies, healthcare, and life sciences.
The Role
Responsibilities will include:
- Collaborating with team members on research, design, prototyping, and testing of electro-mechanical devices.
- Becoming an expert in additive manufacturing, including design, operation, and maintenance of systems.
- Gaining in-depth understanding of the product development process and key aspects of developing highly regulated products like medical devices.
- Developing new manufacturing processes or demonstration devices to expand CPI's offerings to new and existing clients.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will be studying towards an undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product or Industrial Design, or a related field. You should have knowledge and practical experience in design, development, and manufacture of mechanical devices, as well as:
- Experience with 3D CAD software and rapid prototyping techniques like 3D printing.
- Interest in medical devices and technologies.
- Knowledge and experience in designing products with electronics.
