Job Opportunity at The Compleat Food Group
We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our team in Market Drayton. As a key member of our engineering team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our production machinery.
About the Role
This is a hands-on position that requires a strong understanding of maintenance engineering activities, including the coordination and completion of Planned Preventative Maintenance Schedules and corrective actions. You will be responsible for managing a team of Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineers on a 4 on 4 off Night/Day shift.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist management in overseeing the daily operation of the department.
- Supervise and participate in the completion of assigned PMs to ensure departmental KPIs are met.
- Communicate breakdowns and repairs effectively through verbal and written reports.
- Perform major repairs of mechanical and electrical systems.
- Identify and implement improvements to PMs to enhance their effectiveness.
- Develop and maintain relationships with the Planned Maintenance Manager, Operations, QA/Technical teams on manufacturing and operational concerns.
- Supervise the pre-startup of production equipment.
- Identify opportunities for efficiency improvements and plant enhancements to boost operation productivity.
- Ensure adherence to company procedures, legislation, and good working practices.
- Assign, train, develop, and supervise the work of engineering personnel on shift.
Safety, Health & Environment
- Ensure H&S is not compromised by yourself or others.
- Ensure Health & Safety is not compromised by engineers or contractors when completing tasks.
- Follow Health & Safety practices and display them at all times.
- Attend Health & Safety Meetings as an Engineering representative.
Essential Skills, Experience & Qualifications
- Effective communication and a good understanding of FMCG production activities.
- Team to complete assigned PMs and Work requests to agreed KPIs.
- Good communication and updates given to all relevant departments.
- Hands-on support for engineers to complete breakdowns and planned repairs effectively and on time.
- Evolve and improve written PMs to ensure they are effective and provide value.
- Good communication and ability to discuss issues and attain good feedback.
- Ensure all plant and equipment complete a Pre-startup with no start-up issues.
- Equipment performance and capability to complete production plan and cost savings.
- No reported incidents and malpractice.
- Effective and productive team.
