Accounting and Advisory Manager

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Accounting and Advisory Manager to join our team in the North-East and Yorkshire. As a key member of our Accounting and Business Advisory (ABA) team, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of clients, including budgeting, cost management, and billing, primarily reporting under FRS 102 and FRS 105.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee the Accounting, Insight and Advisory (AIA) team, ensuring effective resource planning and team member briefing.
- Act as the day-to-day point of contact for your portfolio of clients, practicing excellent client service and building strong relationships.
- Project manage the end-to-end process of your engagements, driving timelines, managing clients and teams, and ensuring delivery of projects in line with RSM's quality guidelines and procedures.
- Liaise with other departments, including tax, to ensure agreed deadlines are met and significant issues are resolved in a timely manner.
- Take ownership of risk management and weekly client calls to establish a close working relationship with primary client contacts.
Requirements
- Fully Qualified Accountant – ACA/ACCA.
- Working experience of UK GAAP and financial reporting experience.
- Working knowledge of Sage, Xero, QuickBooks, and/or other cloud accounting packages.
- Knowledge of CCH or similar professional accounts preparation packages.
- Experience of managing and overseeing a team within financial services, including training, coaching, and performance management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft packages including Word, Outlook, and advanced Excel.
- An understanding of data analytic tools such as Alteryx and/or Power BI.
