About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Product Development Engineer to join our team at Modus | B Corp™. As a key member of our product development team, you will play a pivotal role in creating and developing contract furniture products from concept to manufacture.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with External Partners: Work closely with external design partners and operational teams to deliver innovative product solutions that meet our high standards.
  • Design and Engineering: Create and control high-standard engineering and manufacturing drawings using 2D and 3D CAD software.
  • Project Management: Liaise with clients and manage projects from prototype to production, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality results.
  • CNC Programming: Produce CNC drawings/programmes for joinery and upholstery, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Technical Specifications: Develop technical specifications, SOPs, and quality standards for all products and packaging, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
  • Lean Production: Drive lean production and engineering improvements for enhanced profitability, reducing waste and increasing efficiency.
  • ERP Database Management: Develop and maintain ERP database content using Winman software, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information.
Requirements
  • Experience: 3+ years' experience in manufacturing / product development, or similar.
  • CAD Skills: Proficient in 2D and 3D CAD (preferably Autodesk suite).
  • Education: Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
  • Manufacturing Knowledge: Understanding of modern manufacturing methods and Lean principles.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to manage changing priorities and demands.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work effectively with clients and internal teams.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with MRP/ERP systems, Microsoft Excel, and other relevant software.
  • Industry Knowledge: Experience in the workspace furniture sector (preferred but not essential).
