About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Psychologist to join our Homeless Mental Health Team, working in partnership with various organizations to provide specialist psychological services to individuals experiencing homelessness.

Key Responsibilities
  • To take a comprehensive and applied psychology approach to working with individuals, teams, and organizations, informing psychological ways of working within and across services.
  • To contribute to the development and implementation of NICE guidelines NG214 'Integrated Health and Social Care for people experiencing homelessness' within the Trust, the team, and wider services.
  • To provide highly specialist psychological assessment and intervention services to individuals and groups, using a variety of applied psychology models.
  • To work in unconventional clinical environments to deliver support to individuals with complex emotional needs.
  • To maintain accurate records and produce client-related reports, exercising autonomous professional responsibility for the assessment, treatment, and discharge of clients.
Person Specification
  • Post Graduate Doctoral level training in Clinical Psychology, as accredited by the BPS (or equivalent level health-relevant Applied Psychology training, as accredited by the professional body)
  • Registered as Practitioner Psychologist with the HCPC
  • Experience of maintaining working relationships and a high degree of professionalism in the face of highly emotive and distressing problems, verbal abuse, and the threat of physical aggression
  • Well-developed skills in the ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, complex, highly technical, and/or clinically sensitive information to clients, their families, carers, and other professional colleagues, both within and outside the NHS.
