Job Description

Job Summary:

The London North West Healthcare NHS Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Scrub Lead Practitioner to join our Orthopaedic Theatre team. As a key member of the theatre team, you will be responsible for the operational management of designated elective orthopaedic theatres, ensuring seamless and efficient patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operational management of designated elective orthopaedic theatres, including budgetary awareness, clinical governance, and staff development and training.
  • Collaboration with the Theatre Clinical Manager to ensure effective theatre utilisation, minimizing delays and maintaining throughput.
  • Providing professional leadership within the clinical area, inspiring and directing the multi-disciplinary team to deliver exceptional patient care.
  • Development of protocols, guidelines, and patient information to enhance patient experience and outcomes.
  • Participation in the on-call rota for CMH Theatres, ensuring 24/7 coverage and support.

Person Specification:

  • Registered Nurse with Theatre Course
  • Registered ODP
  • Extensive experience as Band 6 Scrub Team Leader
  • Extensive knowledge of elective Orthopaedic Scrub procedures

  • Management of instrument and implant loan
  • Evidence of continuous professional development
  • Change management skill
  • People management Skill

Essential Skills and Abilities:

  • High level of organisational skill
  • Demonstrable teaching and facilitation skill in practice development
  • IT skill in using Power point, Word and Excel package
