Chief Software Architect

This is an exciting opportunity to lead our Aircraft Services Business as a People Leader. As a technical expert, you will be responsible for developing high-quality cloud software solutions to support our aircraft systems. You will thrive on providing guidance to ensure that your team understands the business needs and enables them to solve technical problems, in collaboration with other engineering functions.
Roles and Responsibilities- As the technical leader, you will develop a scope of work, plan schedules, and monitor engineering activities for customer projects. You will provide technical leadership and interface with Proposal Management, Cost Estimating, Partners, Customers, GE Product Management, Sourcing, and Engineering sub-contractors.
- You will hold direct people management responsibility, including staffing and performance development. You will utilize in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline and analytical thinking and technical experience to execute policy/strategy.
- You will be responsible for Project Management, executing projects, managing the technical scope, schedule, and budget, while guiding the team to ensure the quality of the project outcomes.
- An appropriate degree or HND in a Technical or Engineering-based discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Experience leading engineering teams, preferably Software Engineers.
- You will demonstrate a logical mindset, alongside good problem-solving and solution-building skills.
- You will have demonstrable experience in executing technical projects within the required cost and schedule constraints.
- Prior experience of scalable cloud-based software development or management in Azure/AWS is highly desirable.
- You will be asked to participate in technical reviews within the Aircraft Services team to share technical knowledge and solutions, as well as with the end customer. A positive attitude, initiative, pro-activeness, and an enthusiasm and passion for software engineering will help you succeed in the department.
