In collaboration with Brentford FC, the Trust provides a wide array of programs focused on education, health, sports participation, and community involvement. The Trust has been recognized multiple times as the Football League Community Club of the Year and currently employs a dedicated team of over 150 professionals.

The Role

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic hospitality expert to oversee the training, mentorship, and operational management of our upcoming Clubhouse Café at Gunnersbury Park. This café will serve as a vital community hub, promoting social interaction and engagement through various community initiatives.

The Clubhouse Social Café Manager will spearhead the café's launch (set to open in October 2024) and will ensure that all Food and Beverage Operations comply with food safety and health regulations.

Key responsibilities include managing daily café operations, developing community health and wellbeing projects in partnership with the Trust's Senior Manager - Health and Wellbeing, and mentoring staff and trainees to provide an inclusive and effective service.

Key Responsibilities

Project Management & Service Delivery:

  • Lead the café's establishment, ensuring compliance with food safety and health regulations.
  • Identify and procure suppliers to facilitate efficient service delivery.
  • Contribute to project-based business plans as directed by senior management.
  • Maintain optimal stock levels through effective supplier communication.
  • Design and prepare menus for the Clubhouse Café.
  • Collaborate with other project managers on initiatives related to nutrition and hospitality.
  • Oversee food preparation and presentation, ensuring high standards and accommodating special dietary needs.
  • Work towards achieving financial targets.

Food Safety & Regulations:

  • Ensure adherence to HACCP and all relevant food safety regulations, maintaining necessary records.
  • Address customer feedback promptly and efficiently, implementing service improvements as needed.
  • Operate kitchen equipment safely and follow health and safety protocols.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment in line with established guidelines.

People Management & Training:

  • Mentor staff, trainees, and work experience students in the café's operations.
  • Provide training to foster a culture of excellent customer service among Clubhouse Café staff.
  • Adhere to data protection and privacy protocols.
  • Stay updated on safeguarding policies and best practices.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure a unified approach to safeguarding.
  • Participate in meetings to enhance safeguarding policies.

Essential Criteria:

  • City & Guilds 706/1 | 706/2 Catering or equivalent qualifications.
  • Level 1, 2, and 3 Food Safety Awards.
  • Level 2 Health and Safety in the Workplace Award.
  • Understanding of COSHH regulations and chemical safety.
  • Experience with kitchen equipment.
  • Proven management experience in food and beverage operations.
  • Strong background in compliance, particularly in health & safety and licensing.
  • Experience in project management and meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to supervise and train small teams effectively.
  • Familiarity with budgeting and gross profit margins.
  • Strong team player.
