Position: Microsoft Azure Specialist
Contract Type: Outside IR35
Compensation: Up to £345 per day
Duration: Initial 6-month contract

We are collaborating with a leading global software organization to identify a skilled Microsoft Azure Specialist to join their team on a contract basis.

This role offers a hybrid working arrangement, requiring occasional travel to the company's offices in the Midlands.

The primary focus of this position is to architect, implement, and sustain cloud-based solutions utilizing Microsoft Azure services.

Your responsibilities will include assisting in the deployment of applications and services within Azure cloud environments as the organization undertakes a significant migration initiative.

Key aspects of the role involve ensuring adherence to best practices for cloud service deployment and secure design principles, alongside configuring network setups as the project evolves from initial concept to final execution.

Collaboration with team members is essential, providing insights on best practices and standards throughout the process.

A solid understanding of Azure remote desktop/application delivery and daily management of Azure infrastructure is crucial, including the ability to deploy from the ground up and assist in creating gold images for new environment deployments.

Another vital component of this role is maintaining comprehensive and up-to-date documentation throughout the migration phases and beyond.

There will be an expectation to keep the internal ticketing system and FAQ notes current as the project progresses.



Key Responsibilities:
1. Design and deploy Azure-based applications and infrastructure.
2. Implement and manage Azure services such as Virtual Machines, App Services, Functions, AKS, SQL Database, Storage, and Networking.
3. Automate deployments using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like ARM templates, Terraform, or Bicep.
4. Configure Azure monitoring, logging, and security solutions.
5. Translate business requirements into scalable and secure Azure solutions.
6. Optimize and troubleshoot existing Azure deployments.
7. Provide guidance on Azure best practices.

Required Skills and Experience:
1. Proven experience as a Microsoft Azure Specialist.
2. Strong understanding of cloud computing and Azure services.
3. Proficient in IaC tools such as ARM templates, Terraform, or Bicep.
4. Knowledge of Azure monitoring, logging, and security solutions.
5. Scripting skills (PowerShell or Bash).
6. Strong problem-solving and communication abilities.
7. Azure certification(s) preferred (e.g., Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Azure DevOps Engineer Expert).
