About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Design Experience Specialist to join our team at Taylor Hopkinson Limited. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for developing and implementing design risk management strategies to ensure the safety and efficiency of our projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design Risk Management: Develop and run training programs for project team members on design risk and CDM, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to identify and mitigate potential risks.
- Project Support: Collaborate with project teams to develop project-specific Design Risk Management Plans, detailing deliverables according to stage gate requirements and ensuring timely delivery of high-quality results.
- Design Competency Assessment: Evaluate competency assessments of individuals and organizations to be appointed as Designers, providing recommendations to the Client on their suitability for the role.
- Design Risk Documentation: Audit design risk documentation produced by Designers, advising on improvements required to ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Mitigation Strategies: Support Designers in implementing effective mitigation strategies to reduce design risks to As Low As Reasonably Practicable (ALARP).
- Collaboration and Communication: Assist the Principal Designer's representative in ensuring effective collaboration between designers, mapping key interfaces on HSE Design between windfarm parts/structures and addressing dependencies, interdependencies, gaps, overlaps, and misalignments.
- Project H&S File: Contribute to the content of the project H&S File, ensuring it is comprehensive and up-to-date.
- Process Improvement: Map gaps in the Client's CDM process and assist in updating the process to ensure it remains effective and efficient.
Requirements:
- Location: UK-based, with flexibility and travel availability within the UK. Travel to Denmark may be required.
- Education: Relevant technical background, with a strong understanding of HSE product safety and CDM 2015.
- Experience: Recommended 5 years of relevant and practical work experience in design risk management, with a thorough understanding of design standards, country legislations, Temporary Workplace Directive, and product development.
- Skills: Experience in tools used to address design risks, such as design risk assessments, hazid/hazops, qualitative and quantitative assessments. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to write and speak English fluently.
- Personal Qualities: True QHSE role model with a co-operative and solution-oriented attitude, caring and honest, with a human touch.
