About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Controls Systems Engineer to join our team at WestRock. As a key member of our Engineering department, you will be responsible for developing and implementing electrical design and controls solutions for our manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop electrical control systems for new and existing equipment, ensuring compliance with company standards and customer requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate controls systems into manufacturing processes, ensuring seamless operation and minimal downtime.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, test procedures, and operation manuals.
- Provide technical support and training to production staff on new equipment and processes.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement lean manufacturing techniques to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
- Work closely with the Purchasing and Supply Chain teams to ensure technical and quality aspects are met during equipment assembly and development.
- Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely delivery of high-quality components and services.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in controls systems and automation technologies.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in electrical design and controls engineering, with a strong background in PLC programming and automation systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and projects.
