About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Controls Systems Engineer to join our team at WestRock. As a key member of our Engineering department, you will be responsible for developing and implementing electrical design and controls solutions for our manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop electrical control systems for new and existing equipment, ensuring compliance with company standards and customer requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate controls systems into manufacturing processes, ensuring seamless operation and minimal downtime.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, test procedures, and operation manuals.
  • Provide technical support and training to production staff on new equipment and processes.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement lean manufacturing techniques to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Work closely with the Purchasing and Supply Chain teams to ensure technical and quality aspects are met during equipment assembly and development.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely delivery of high-quality components and services.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in controls systems and automation technologies.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in electrical design and controls engineering, with a strong background in PLC programming and automation systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and projects.
