We are seeking a highly skilled Business Impact Analyst to join our Economic Business Case & Impact Assessment Team at the Connected Places Catapult. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in supporting a broad range of analysis on the social, environmental, and economic impacts of new technologies across multiple domains, including mobility and the built environment.
Key Responsibilities- Undertake economic impact analysis on a diverse range of subject areas, including the impacts of new innovations on society, environment, and the economy.
- Support the design of Impact Assessment Work Packages and collaborate across inter-disciplinary project teams.
- Develop and apply social value economics evaluation and appraisal techniques, including the use of health, wellbeing, and environmental indicators.
- Undertake impact mapping, data analysis, horizon scanning, roadmap development, and research as required to meet project needs.
- Produce high-quality reports, analysis, graphs, charts, blog posts, and case studies to enable the findings of your analysis to be disseminated within the project team or more widely.
- Provide expertise and content support to various projects across the catapult, while supporting the activities of other colleagues.
- A degree in economics or a related field, with demonstrable equivalent experience.
- Excellent statistical, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use economic models and conduct statistical analyses.
- A thorough understanding of economic theory and methods, enabling you to analyze complex societal benefits and impacts of new innovations.
- The ability to present the results of your analyses in high-quality written reports.
- Familiarity with different evaluation designs and methods for identifying and gathering monitoring data.
- Experience of using the UK's 'Green Book' and 'Magenta Book' for evaluation or project appraisal.
- An interest in technology and innovation, and how it can be used to improve the built environment, mobility, and wellbeing, as well as environmental sustainability.
- The ability to work with large data sets, finding societal and economic correlations and associations, or performing analyses with statistical software packages.
- Knowledge about how different markets work, economic growth and welfare, and decarbonisation.
- A 9-day fortnight for everyone, with a full company shutdown every other Friday.
