Special Educational Needs Assistant

Location: Chorley, Lancashire.

Hours: Full-Time, 8:45am - 3:15pm.

Pay Rate: £13.50 per hour (dependent on experience).

We are looking for a committed Special Educational Needs Assistant to become an integral part of our educational environment in Chorley. As a vital member of the Key Stage 2 team, you will significantly contribute to addressing the educational and developmental requirements of students with Special Educational Needs (SEN).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver personalized support to students with SEN, ensuring they can access the curriculum and participate fully in classroom activities.
  • Execute individual education plans (IEPs) and support strategies as outlined by the SEN Coordinator and teaching staff.
  • Encourage a nurturing and inclusive learning atmosphere where every student feels appreciated and motivated to achieve their utmost potential.
  • Assist with personal care and social development tailored to the specific needs of each student.
  • Work collaboratively with educators, parents, and external organizations to provide comprehensive support for students with SEN.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Experience in supporting children with SEN, ideally in a primary school context.
  • A compassionate and understanding demeanor, with a true enthusiasm for fostering the educational growth of children with varied needs.
  • Excellent communication abilities and a collaborative spirit to work effectively within a team.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in SEN support are preferred.

All remuneration details include statutory holiday pay. This position is temporary, with potential opportunities for permanence in the future.
